Impact
Providing on-Country University education for remote living Aboriginal students of Arnhem Land.
Wuyagiba Study Hub is located on Country in South East Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, delivering Australia’s first on-Country, two-way university pathway program for remote Aboriginal students. For this highly remote setting, Eco Structures supplied a series of 6.3m Link Eco Tents, purpose-built to support learning, accommodation and community life in a culturally significant landscape.
Each structure is supported by our patented Eco Anchor system — a concrete-free footing solution ideally suited to sloped and remote sites. This system enabled fast installation with minimal environmental impact. Finished with composite decking, the tents provide durable, low-maintenance spaces that function as classrooms, student dormitories and staff accommodation, allowing all participants to live and learn together on Country.
Working closely with project partners, we delivered infrastructure that supports education access while strengthening connection to place, culture and community.
Wuyagiba Study Hub delivers a unique two-way learning model, combining Aboriginal knowledge systems with first-year university curriculum taught on Country by university lecturers and local Elders. The program provides remote Aboriginal students with access to higher education without leaving home, family or culture.
Designed for resilience, adaptability and minimal site disturbance, these structures demonstrate how low-impact, modular infrastructure can enable transformative education outcomes in the most remote regions of Australia.
Modular structures. Minimal impact.
Built to support learning, leadership and future opportunity.
