Rhino Tuff FR 12oz Canvas is a medium weight fire retardant, waterproof canvas fabric with superior waterproofing, water repellent, anti-rot and mildew properties.
Wet and Dry: Thoroughly wet and dry new canvas before first use.
Cleaning: Use soft brush and cold water only.
Avoid: No harsh chemicals, detergents, or abrasives.
Remove: Promptly remove bird droppings, earth, sand, or vegetable matter.
Mildew: Brush off mildew spots before they attach.
Reproofing: May require reproofing after extensive cleaning.
Use Paskal mould and mildew remover:
Canvas can shrink up to 3% maximum. First wetting may cause minor leakage – this is normal and will resolve. If too tight, adjust by moving rope track in 5-10mm.
Minor leakage during first rain is normal. Fibres swell and shrink, tightening weave. Recommend hosing down after installation to accelerate sealing.
900 GSM PVC Coated Membrane is strong, flexible, fire resistant, water repellent and anti-fungal.

Same process as canvas – use Paskal remover diluted 1:5 parts water.
Re-tension roof fly within 3 months of installation. Inspect D Rings after wind events – vibrations can cause spinning and webbing failure.
Quality zippers require care. Don’t “grind” around corners. Pull canvas to help zippers glide. Keep clean. Lubricate with Mr. Sheen.
Tension Adjustment:
If canvas too tight, remove canvas hide (Velcro cover), unscrew tek screws, move rope track in 5-10mm. For 4.2m tent: centers at 4100 apart, adjust to 4080 (20mm total) to relieve tension.
Inspection: Inspect structural nuts/bolts annually or after strong wind events.
Cleaning: Wash with potable water and mild detergents to remove salts annually. Repair corrosion per AS/NZS 2312-2014.
Repairs: Damaged galvanising repaired with ‘zinc rich’ paint at 150 microns dry film thickness.
1. Remove Fly Sheet:
Use impact driver to remove 8 hooks. Fold and store safely (use bathpod for weight if available).
2. Remove Furniture:
Store in cool dry place. Canvas walls/ceiling not warranted above 32m/s. Main risk is airborne debris damage.
3. Isolate Power:
No need to isolate water unless desired.
Remove roof fabric components when winds forecast to exceed 72 km/h.
* Fabric exposed to winds exceeding 72 km/h will NOT be warranted and must be checked for fatigue.
